Buelow: Christmas is Christ
William Buelow began his work with Maria Bacon MacDonald's poetry after reading her poem Christmas. After contacting her to seek permission to set the poem to music, he received even more poetry from Ms. MacDonald, which he used to create many beautiful choral works.
Christmas is Christ sets the text of Ms. MacDonald's "Christmas." It's a beautiful choral work that provides a message on the meaning of Christmas.
Christmas is living,
Christmas is giving,
Christmas is pouring one's heart out to others;
Christmas is caring,
Christmas is sharing, Christmas is treating God's children as brothers.
Christmas is singing,
Christmas is bringing,
Christmas greetings of love, to friends far and near;
Christmas is letting
Christmas cards say, there's no forgetting,
Christmas tells our friends, that their memory is dear!
Christmas is praying,
Christmas is laying
Christmas gifts, of our lives, at the Lord's pierced feet;
Christmas is receiving,
Christmas is believing,
Christmas is Christ - that's what makes it so sweet!
